When using a Colombia airport take into account some general recommendations to help you have a safe arrival or departure:

  • Normallyl, for international flights, you must get to the airport three hours prior to your flight, while for domestic flights you should arrive two hours before.
  • Consider some extra time for arrivals and departures because many airports in Colombia are in process of remodeling or expansion in order to improve their service, but right now disrupt its normal functioning.
  • If you want to change money as soon as you arrive at your destination, we highly recomend you, to do it before leaving the airport. Inside every arrival terminal there is an office to do that. If the office is close, wait until you get to your Hotel, and do not change money on the street.
  • Always keep your belongings in sight.
  • For your safety, take taxis in points allowed and controlled by the airport authorities. Under no circumstances accept offers of informal transport.
  • It is important for you to consider the weather conditions of the Colombian city you are going to visit; so please check out our page about Climate of Colombia.
